TIBET Roof of the world, the tibetain plateau is bordered by one of the highest mountains of the world, to the west by the Karakoram range, to the north by the Kunlun and Tangla and to the south by the mighty Himalayas. |

It has an average altitude of 4000mts. Some of the longest rivers of Asia take their source in the far western Tibet near the sacred mountain Kailash where pilgrims from all over Tibet gather in the Tibetan month of Sakadawa (May/June) to celebrate the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of the Buddha.
